Dear Friend,
It is my pleasure to provide you with a copy of the 2020 New York City Parking Calendar. Please keep the calendar handy and refer to it whenever you have questions about where and when you may legally park your vehicle on holidays and days of religious observance throughout the year. You should be aware there are new fees and procedures associated with your vehicle being booted or towed. Information is provided in this brochure. Knowing the parking rules may save you the headache and expense of receiving a ticket or having your vehicle towed. As always, if I or my staff can be of any assistance to you, please don’t hesitate to contact my office.

To review New York City parking regulations, visit www.nyc.gov/dot. The information can be found in the Motorists & Parking section. Alternate side parking regulations may be suspended from time to time due to snow emergencies, inclement weather conditions or other emergencies.
For further information, please visit the Department of Transportation website at www.nyc.gov/dot or dial 311. All of NYC was designated a Tow-Away Zone under the State’s Vehicle and Traffic Law in 1959. This means that any vehicle parked illegally, or with missing or expired registration or inspection stickers, may be towed.
Double-parking of a passenger vehicle is illegal at all times, including street cleaning days, regardless of location, purpose or duration. It is illegal to park within 15 feet of either side of a fire hydrant. The painted curbs at hydrant locations do not indicate where you can park. An occupied, illegally-parked vehicle causes the same safety hazard and congestion as an unoccupied vehicle. Exercise responsibility; park legally.
On major legal holidays, stopping, standing and parking are permitted except in areas where stopping, standing and parking rules are in effect seven days a week (for example, “No Standing Anytime”). However, parking meters will not be in effect on major legal holidays.
