Senator Anthony Palumbo (R,C-New Suffolk), a member of the New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators, is pleased to announce that the organization will be awarding four $4,000 scholarships at this year’s Italian-American Day on May 24, 2021. Interested high school seniors and students currently enrolled in college are encouraged to apply for this award.
“I’m happy to announce these scholarships to students in my district. It is always a pleasure to recognize hard-working young men and women and especially gratifying to help them further their education when finances present a challenge for them,” said Senator Palumbo.
The four scholarships include two academic scholarships and two athletic scholarships. Students will be required to meet certain academic and community involvement criteria, as well as the ability to demonstrate financial need.
The New York State Conference of Italian-American Legislators is a not-for-profit 501c3 organization comprised of current Senate and Assembly members promoting the rich history and contributions of their Italian heritage.
More information about the scholarships, as well as criteria, can be found online at https://www.nyiacsl.org/scholarships. You do not need to be Italian-American to apply. All applications are due by March 19, 2021.
