Nichols Supermarket in Liverpool receiving NYS Senate Empire Award

LIVERPOOL, N.Y. — Nichols Supermarket in Liverpool is set to receive the prestigious NYS Senate Empire Award on Thursday, Aug. 24 at 8 a.m.

The award recognizes businesses that have made significant contributions to their communities and the State of New York.

The award bio describes Nichols Supermarket as:

"One of the few independently owned grocery stores in Onondaga County, since 1959 the business has grown to employ approximately 100 people, who consider the store to be a family. Nichols Supermarket has supported youth sports and community functions for decades and provides a retail outlet for Central New York and Syracuse-based bakeries and food producers."

State Senator John Mannion will be on-hand to present the award.
