Senator Palumbo Honors Maryanne Koepper as the 2026 Woman of Distinction for the 1st Senate District

Senator Anthony Palumbo (R,C-New Suffolk) recognized Maryanne Koepper as the 2026 Woman of Distinction for the 1st Senate District at the New York State Senate Women of Distinction Ceremony at the State Capital on May 5, 2026. Maryanne Koepper is a lifelong Long Island resident, public servant, and community leader whose life reflects resilience, compassion, and commitment to others.
“Maryanne was the first in her family to attend college. She has owned and operated a successful business and is an active member of her community. She has dedicated her latest profession to helping and serving seniors throughout the Mt. Sinai area and is the epitome of a community leader. I am truly honored to recognize her as the 2026 New York State Senate Woman of Distinction for District 1,” said Senator Anthony Palumbo.
A 26-year resident of Mount Sinai, Maryanne is an active civic leader, serving in the Mount Sinai Civic Association, the Mount Sinai Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and supports local schools and arts programs. She is also a beloved member of the Rose Caracappa Center where she oversees the congregate program, providing meals and programs to seniors throughout the community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Maryanne was an essential worker, ensuring vulnerable seniors received meals, support, and stayed connected during a time of isolation and uncertainty.
