Penfield Post: Gallivan supports capping local Medicaid costs

State Sen. Patrick M. Gallivan has issued a release stating his position on capping Medicaid costs for counties.

According to Gallivan, initiatives begun in 2013 gradually reduce the Medicaid burden on local governments by having the state assume more of the program’s costs, which will result in a lowered property tax bill for area residents.

Legislation introduced by Gallivan would go even further, by eventually eliminating the Medicaid portion paid by local governments.
