Capitol Tonight: Senate Efforts to Combat Synthetic Marijuana

Synthetic marijuana use, along with heroin use, is a really serious problem in New York state right now, and it's only getting worse. There is no statewide law making synthetic drugs illegal, yet, emergency room visits and deaths are on the rise. The state Senate's Independent Democratic Conference does have proposed legislation to criminalize the sale of K2, one type of the drug. But the problem is, new variations of synthetic marijuana continue to be made. State Senator David Valesky joined us from Syracuse, where the area knows all too well the dangers of the drug.
