State funding totaling $85,000 has been allocated to the reconstruction of portions of Zurbrick Road in theVillage of Depew according to Sen. Patrick M. Gallivan. According to a release from the senator’s office, the money is a part of an overall $1.3 million project to rebuild the road between Transit and Borden roads.

“Maintaining quality roads and infrastructure is critical to business, commerce and the quality of life in every community. I’m glad to see this investment being made for the residents in the area,” Gallivan said.ed

According to Gallivan, the funding was part of the 1996 state budget but was never used by Depew.

Depew Mayor Steven Hoffman said he appreciates the support.

“This additional funding allows this important project to move forward,” he said.

Work on the project is expected to begin in late spring or early summer 2015.
