Ortt Supports Proposed Changes to Medicaid, Welfare Programs

During a Niagara County Legislature meeting, state Senator Rob Ortt and his colleague Assemblywoman Jane Corwin said they support reforms to the Medicaid and Safety Net Assistance programs. Local leaders are calling on the governor and State Legislature to provide relief to taxpayers by enacting legislation to “opt out” of the costly non-federally-mandated Medicaid services and to revert to pre-2011 50%-50% cost-sharing arrangement between state government and taxpayers.
