WILSON, N.Y. -- Neighbors and politicians alike held a rally Friday night against the plan they say is the cause of rising water levels in Lake Ontario.

The United Shoreline group was formed in response International Joint Commission Plan 2014, which activists say has caused rising water levels. extensive damage and a drop in tourism along Lake Ontario.

Coordinators of the rally say they had no idea the plan was in place, until it started affecting them personally.

"I had no idea that I wouldn't get any money from the insurance company or anyone if my house fell into the water, I'm only 15 feet from my break wall, my break wall is crumbling and due to no fault of my own," said rally coordinator Sharon Lochman.

Newfane middle school students were also stationed in the lobby before the rally to sell the book that they wrote titled "Lake Ontario’s Problem."
