After historic hearing, lawmakers move to fix state Human Rights Law

sexual harassment hearing in Albany earlier this month exposed two major loopholes in the state's Human Rights Law which enable employers to avoid liability for many types of workplace misconduct.

 

Now, bills introduced by state Sen. Alessandra Biaggi and Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas, in conjunction with the National Employment Lawyers Association of New York (NELA/NY), aim to remove those legal barriers for alleged victims seeking justice.
