Following the tragic mass shootings that took place in several locations across the country over the past two weeks, Long Island representatives and activist groups have joined together to hold a rally against gun violence tonight, Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 5 p.m. at Haypath Park in Old Bethpage. The Call to Action to End Gun Violence – Long Island is hosted by Senator Anna M. Kaplan (District 7), Senator Jim Gaughran (District 5), Senator Kevin Thomas (District 6), Senator Monica R. Martinez (District 3), Together We Will – Long Island, Long Islanders for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action – NY.

These groups seek to raise awareness of the importance of ending gun violence in America and invite Long Islanders to listen to activists, victims of gun violence, faith leaders and elected officials as they call on the federal government to act on common sense gun reform.
