tate Sen. James Gaughran will lead a public forum March 16 on the LIPA effort to reduce its tax burden and several other issues, including clean energy, the composition of the LIPA board and customer service.

Gaughran is inviting constituents to ask questions and provide suggestions.

The  Northport-East Northport school district will also make a presentation.

LIPA is seeking to reduce the assessed value of the Northport Power Plant by 90%, leaving local taxpayers to shoulder the burden of this significant loss of tax revenue.
