Governor Kathy Hochul, joined by elected officials, including NY State Attorney General Letitia James, Congress Member Grace Meng, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, State Senators John Liu and Anna M. Kaplan, Assembly Members David Weprin and Edward Braunstein, Council Members Sandra Ung and Linda Lee, and others, led the annual Littleneck-Douglaston Memorial Day Parade. Returning after a two year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Little Neck-Douglaston Memorial Day Parade included hundreds of marchers honoring the memory of those members of the US Armed Forces who paid the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives to protect the rights of those left behind when they marched off to war. The parade held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, has been called one of the largest parades in the nation honoring our war heroes. The participants included elected officials and those seeking office, marching bands from local schools and organizations, as well as soldiers representing each of the service organizations of the United States. Francis Lewis High School was well represented with their marching band and ROTC members.
