One local library has received over 6-hundred thousand dollars in funding to continue its renovations.

Senator John Mannion’s office made the announcement that the Seymour Library in Auburn has been awarded 613,095 dollars in state funding to cover 75% of the total costs for the upcoming renovations to the library’s North Lobby.

This is Phase Three of the library’s building improvement plan with the primary goals of making the space more accessible, providing energy efficient lighting, and improving fire safety through a new alarm system.

Executive Director Lisa Carr states, “at Seymour Library, our focus is on you, our community, and this next phase of construction will enable us to improve our space and services.”

Phase Two began in April to renovate the building’s West Lobby and Phase One saw the creation of the Family Space in the basement.
