Coney Island Community Leader Connie Jones honored as State Senate District’s Woman of Distinction

CONEY ISLAND — CONEY ISLAND CIVIC AND FAITH LEADER CONNIE JONES was publicly honored on Tuesday, May 13 as the 2025 Woman of Distinction for State Senate District 23.
State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton honored Connie Jones for over five decades of service to the Coney Island community. After graduating college, Jones worked at Amethyst Women’s Project in Coney Island, assisting survivors of domestic violence. Later, she worked at the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island (JCCGCI) Urban Neighborhood Services team as a housing specialist and program coordinator.
