The Wonder Wheel was the first ride to earn landmark status from the city, Vourderis said. Now it has received the distinguishment from the state as well, after being nominated by State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton. "I know how difficult it is for small businesses to stay open for years upon years, let alone an entire century," she said.
