This week, advocates from across New York gathered at the Capitol in Albany to call for stronger animal protection laws and to connect with legislators about the importance of preventing cruelty in a tradition known as Animal Advocacy Day. They come each year because the way we treat animals serves as a powerful reflection of the values we uphold as a society. Protecting these creatures is not an isolated act of kindness, but rather is intrinsically linked to safeguarding people, strengthening our communities, and building laws rooted in compassion and responsibility.
