Council Member Hanks hosts 5th Women in Business Expo; Speaker Julie Menin delivers keynote

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Hundreds of women business owners and supporters gathered Saturday for Council Member and Majority Whip Kamillah Hanks’ Fifth Annual Women in Business Expo at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bloomfield.
Hanks sponsored the event in partnership with State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton and the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, led by Linda Baran.
Scarcella-Spanton also addressed the crowd, praising the women in attendance and recognizing the many roles they balance each day — from caring for their families to running businesses and supporting their communities.
“All women in here are working women who are doing everything,” she said, adding that their efforts deserve “so much praise” and “so much gratitude.”
She described the event as a small token of appreciation and a chance to celebrate their contributions, thanking attendees and congratulating them on their work.
