Little League: Snug Harbor’s enormous growth puts it in dire need for field upgrades

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Snug Harbor Little League has not only had a steady rise in registration for six straight seasons, but it currently has the city’s largest enrollment, according to league president Dennis Thomson.

It’s in the league’s best interest to have its second and third fields installed with turf and, according to Thomson, the cost is $1.2 million. Fortunately, State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton has allotted $600,000 toward the project.
