NYC promises future Staten Island 2-K seats but offers little clarity on initial exclusion

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Maybe Staten Island isn’t forgotten, just a bit neglected.
“While the rest of the city revels in the prospects of this program, Staten Island’s children are left without any opportunity or equitable access to be part of it,” State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton, a Democrat representing the North Shore and part of South Brooklyn, said. “That is a disservice to every child and every hardworking parent in our borough.”
