Horseheads, N.Y., February 1—New York State Senator Tom O’Mara (R,C,I-Big Flats) and Assemblymen Phil Palmesano (R,C,I-Corning) and Chris Friend (R,C,I-Big Flats) today reminded area residents that they will hold a community meeting in Horseheads on Thursday, February 4, 2016.

The meeting has been scheduled at the Horseheads Village Hall (202 South Main Street) from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

In a joint statement, the lawmakers said, “We hope local residents will continue to take advantage of these community meetings to learn more about and contribute to this year’s challenges and debates over taxes, regulations, mandates, economic development, health care, education, and other key issues. Community meetings offer the kind of direct give and take that’s fundamental to effective government.”

They said that the meetings, which began last fall throughout the region, are informal and open to the public to give local residents an opportunity to directly share their concerns, opinions and suggestions for better government.

The legislators stressed that any local residents unable to attend a meeting can contact them directly to share specific concerns and suggestions.
