Senator Phillips Bringing Free Legal Services Program to New Hyde Park and Mineola

     Senator Elaine Phillips (R-Manhasset) and the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) will be holding free programs in New Hyde Park and Mineola to provide free legal services to those in need.

     Senator Phillips has arranged to bring the Mobile Legal Help Center to the following locations:

     Hillside Public Library

     155 Lakeville Road, New Hyde Park

     Monday, March 13th

     10 am to 3 pm

     Mineola Memorial Library

     195 Marcellus Road, Mineola

     Tuesday, March 21st

     10 am to 3 pm

     The Mobile Legal Help Center, which is a partnership between the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and the New York State Office of Court Administration, brings free, civil legal services directly into communities.

     NYLAG staff will be available to provide free legal assistance to local residents on issues related to:      

  • Domestic violence
  • Family Law
  • Healthcare and disability benefits
  • Housing (tenants only)
  • Identity theft and consumer credit issues
  • Advance Planning

     Individuals should bring with them any documentation related to their situation that may be useful to the NYLAG staff in providing assistance. 

     Residents of the 7th Senate District who would like more information about the free legal services programs on March 13th and March 21st or would like to make an appointment should call Senator Phillips’ office at 516-746-5924.  Appointments are required.
