Senator Phillips And Long Island Nets Host Free Basketball Camp In Port Washington

Senator Elaine Phillips, in partnership with the Long Island Nets, recently hosted a free basketball camp at the Chabad of Port Washington for children in grades 3 to 7.

“Team sports like basketball are critically important for childhood development as it teaches teamwork, camaraderie and hard work,” Senator Phillips said. “. Thank you to the Long Island Nets for co-sponsoring this event and to the Chabad of Port Washington for hosting.”

The children cycled through skill stations run by members of the Nets to practice ball handling, shooting, strength, conditioning, and skill development.

Senator Phillips spoke to the children about the importance of athletics and how they build character, confidence and humility.
