Senator Phillips recently attended the India Association of Long Island’s (IALI) annual “IndiaFest” held at North Hempstead Beach Park.

“Thank you to Gunjan Rastogi, President of IALI & the entire Board for inviting me to the special cultural event and for welcoming me with open arms and to Sujata Seth for fitting me in the beautiful sari for the festivities,” said Senator Phillips. “President Rastogi and members of the IALI provide numerous cultural and educational programs and we are fortunate for their many contributions to the community.”

The free festival featured Indian cultural activities, arts and crafts, Indian cuisine, classical dances and children's activities.

IALI’s mission is to promote, share, and celebrate the culture and heritage of India through cultural programs and educational and other activities that foster a better understanding of this nation’s diversity and its rich traditions among the Indian-American population and the larger community of Long Island.
