Senator Murphy to Mt. Kisco Senior Volunteers: Thank You for Making a Difference

Mt. Kisco, NY - The benefits of senior volunteering are like icing on the cake; the more they volunteer, the sweeter it gets. On April 11, the Fox Senior Center in Mount Kisco hosted a Volunteer Recognition Day to say thank you to senior volunteers for all that they do for the Center and the surrounding community. Special guests State Senator Terrence Murphy and Mount Kisco Mayor Gina Picinich were on hand to talk with the seniors and congratulate them for the positive impact their volunteerism has on others.

"Volunteering is the glue that holds a community together," Senator Murphy observed. "It really does make a difference. The effect one person can have on another was shown just a few weeks ago during some of the worst storms we have ever experienced. Everybody came together. Seniors, adults and children reached out to help one another. It takes a special person to do what you do, to lend a hand, pass on life skills or simply to let people know you are there for them in times of need. I am glad to be here today with Mayor Picinich to congratulate our seniors and thank you for being a volunteer."

Mayor Picinich said, "The Fox Senior Center is a vibrant place in our community filled with activity, music and fun. It was wonderful to have Senator Murphy join our celebration and appreciate the volunteers who are the heart of our village."
