State Senator Patty Ritchie recently visited the HP Hood facility in LaFargeville to meet with staff and see firsthand how the plant turns local milk into a variety of dairy products.

The HP Hood facility has been in LaFargeville for nearly 90 years and employs 114 people. Every year it creates roughly 82 million pounds of dairy products, including cottage cheese, yogurt and sour cream. That production has helped New York State become the number one producer of those three dairy products in the entire country.

Recently, the facility received three awards for its dairy products at the 2018 ‘Great New York State Fair’.

Hood’s products include Crowley, Hood, Simply Smart Milk, Heluva Good, Lactaid, Hershey’s Milk and Milkshakes and more.
