Sen. Metzger Honors Delaware County Family-Owned Businesses with Empire Awards for their Contributions to the Local Community

Delaware County, NY...Senator Jen Metzger (SD-42) on Friday presented New York State Senate Empire Awards to Clark Companies and Blue Bee Cafe, two Delhi-based businesses that operate with exceptional service and contribute greatly to the Delaware County and greater Catskills region.
Senator Metzger first visited Clark Companies’ offices to present Scott and Chris Clark with a New York State Senate Empire Award in recognition of the family’s 70+ successful years in business. The Clarks employ a local workforce, many of whom have been with the company for decades, and offer full scale design-build services to clients around the country. The Clarks’ philanthropic endeavors are also significant, as major supporters of the O'Connor Hospital and SUNY Delhi and contributors to many local events and organizations over the years.
“Clark Companies is home-grown in every sense of the word, founded by Delhi natives, hiring locally, and staying local, bucking the trend of moving manufacturing facilities out of state or out of country. This is a highly successful, innovative company that designs and produces top-of-the-line athletic fields, treats its employees well, and gives back to the community,” said Senator Jen Metzger.
Senator Metzger next traveled to honor Stephanie Carter, owner of Blue Bee Cafe, a popular, family-run eatery in Delhi that sources ingredients for meals locally. “Blue Bee Cafe is a community staple in Delhi that serves as a meeting space for residents, SUNY students, and tourists alike, and their decision to feature delicious, fresh, and locally sourced produce on the menu directly supports farms and growers in the region,” said Senator Jen Metzger. "As Senate Agriculture Chair, I applaud this commitment to supporting our family farms."
Jen Metzger represents the 42nd Senate District, which includes all of Sullivan County and parts of Delaware, Orange, and Ulster Counties. Senator Metzger serves as Chair of the Agriculture Committee and sits on the Environmental Conservation, Education, Health, Energy and Telecommunications, Local Government, Women’s Issues, Domestic Animal Welfare, and Legislative Commission on Rural Resources Committees.
