SENATOR PALUMBO ANNOUNCES FREE MEMORY SCREENINGS FOR SUFFOLK COUNTY VETERANS

Senator Anthony Palumbo (R,C-New Suffolk) is teaming up with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) to help promote free virtual memory screenings to Suffolk County veterans and their families. The memory screenings, which can be taken from home, are offered every Monday and Wednesday from 10 am to 4 pm and every Friday from 10 am to 2 pm. Suffolk County veterans interested in signing up for a memory screening should contact the  AFA at 866-232-8484 to make an appointment.

Senator Palumbo noted that there are more than 450,000 veterans over the age of 65 in New York State, with Suffolk County being home to the largest population of veterans in the state.

“Early detection of any memory loss or cognitive decline is essential to either treating or reversing the problem,” said Senator Palumbo. “I hope veterans and their families will utilize these free virtual screenings. This is a terrific program designed to give back and help the brave men and women served our nation and defended our freedoms. I’d like to thank the AFA and Suffolk County Marathon for their help and generosity to bring this important program to our veterans and their families.”Senator Anthony Palumbo (R,C-New Suffolk) is teaming up with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) to help promote free virtual memory screenings to Suffolk County veterans and their families.
