Senator Hoylman Makes 1,370 Successful Constituent Vaccine Appointments

NEW YORK — Today, Senator Brad Hoylman (D/WF-Manhattan) announced he has helped 1,370 constituents schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments at pharmacies, hospitals and mass vaccination sites.

On February 27, after hearing many reports about the difficulties of scheduling vaccine appointments, Senator Hoylman launched his “Vaccine Appointment Help Center” to assist eligible constituents schedule COVID-19 inoculations. With the assistance of TurboVax, Senator Hoylman, his staff, and volunteers monitored New York State and New York City vaccine websites and worked with local pharmacies to ensure constituents, many of whom were seniors and had limited access to technology, were able to schedule appointments. Additionally, Senator Hoylman helped bring pop-up vaccination sites to NYCHA’s Pedro Albizu Campos Plaza Community Center on Saturday, March 13 and other locations in his Senate district.

Senator Hoylman said: “Helping constituents schedule vaccine appointments is some of the most rewarding work I’ve done since I became a New York State Senator. Many of my constituents struggled with the confusing online sign-up process, a lack of Manhattan-specific mass vaccination site and the limited supply of vaccines. I couldn’t be prouder of my team, who worked around-the- clock to enable us to surpass our milestone 1,000th successful COVID-19 vaccine appointment.”
