Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) is urging the New York State Department of Transportation to expedite the approval of a traffic signal at Transit Road and Jessica Lane in the Town of Lancaster, the site of a new Delta Sonic car wash.
In a letter to the regional director for DOT, Senator Gallivan acknowledged the department has been cooperative in working with local officials on the project.
"That section of Transit Road already experiences heavy traffic on a daily basis because of the number of businesses and apartments in the area," Senator Gallivan said. "In welcoming the new Delta Sonic, there is an immediate need for a new light to help control traffic flow and protect motorists and pedestrians."
The proposed signal has the support of local leaders, including members of the Lancaster Town Board and Lancaster Police Chief William Karn, Jr.
