Senator Anna Kaplan Issues Statement on International Holocaust Remembrance Day Urging Action To Improve Holocaust Education in New York Schools

CARLE PLACE, NY (JANUARY 27, 2022) - On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, State Senator Anna M. Kaplan (D-North Hills) issued the following statement:

Senator Anna M. Kaplan said "As our community and our nation confronts an explosion of antisemitism and antisemitic violence, it's more important than ever that we remember the history of the Holocaust, and vow to never forget the millions who were murdered in the name of antisemitism and hatred.

Today as we observe International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we pause in remembrance of those we've lost, but we must also vow to do more to keep the history alive, and remain ever-vigilant against the rising threat that this vile hatred poses to our community.

I will continue to do my part in the weeks ahead by redoubling my efforts to pass a law in New York ensuring that young people are learning the history of the Holocaust in our schools, and I urge every New Yorker to stand with me and contact their State representatives and tell them to support the passage of the Holocaust Education Bill, S.121A/A.472A."
