Tedisco Announces Aid for Saratoga County Libraries
State Senator Tedisco says Clifton Park-Halfmoon Library, Stillwater Library, Waterford Library and Southern Adirondack Library System to receive state grants for renovations

Senator Jim Tedisco today announced a total of $693,781 in new state library construction aid grants to return tax dollars back to benefit local residents and families in the 44th Senate District.

Senator Tedisco, who is Ranking Member of the Senate Education Committee and a member of the Senate Library Committee, noted that the state library construction aid grants are funded through the New York State Education Department. 

Grants have been awarded to the following libraries in Saratoga County:

•    Clifton Park Halfmoon Public Library -- $300,848 -- to replace the library’s main entrance doors with a revolving door for energy efficiency and patron accessibility.

•    Stillwater Public Library -- $134,775 -- for energy efficient window units, parking lot development and renovation of the exterior walls.

•    Waterford Public Library -- $220,025 – to replace a slate roof that is over 125 years old and in disrepair that it will affect the ability to obtain insurance coverage.

•    Southern Adirondack Library System -- $38,133 – for broadband WIFI access improvement in Saratoga, Hamilton, Warren & Washington County libraries.

“Our libraries are more than just a place to check out a book or read the newspaper, they are true community centers and gathering spots for people of all ages that promote a life-long love of learning,” said Senator Jim Tedisco. “These new state grants will return tax dollars back into Saratoga County and the 44th Senate District and help provide renovations to the Clifton Park-Halfmoon, Stillwater and Waterford Public Libraries and enable the Southern Adirondack Library System to expand broadband wi-fi access for its member libraries across Saratoga County.”
