Senator Jim Tedisco today helped kick-off the 10th annual Saratoga County Summer Meals Program in Mechanicville.

The Summer Meals Program in Mechanicville is a partnership among CAPTAIN Community Human Services, Mechanicville Area Community Services Center and the United Way of the Greater Capital Region.  This is the program's 10th year of providing healthy summer meals for children in Mechanicville and across Saratoga County.

"In order for kids to recreate this summer, they need to have full bellies. No child should go hungry. A lack of eating or just eating junk food impacts a child's health and ability to focus and learn. With the highest inflation in over four decades, it's getting harder for many families to make ends meet and put food on the table. Fortunately, the Summer Meals Program can help provide free summer meals to children who need them," said Senator Jim Tedisco, Ranking Member of the Senate Education Committee and a former special education teacher, guidance counselor, athletic director and coach.
