Tedisco Honors National Champion Saratoga Springs High School Girls Cross Country Team

Albany-- Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-44th Senate District) today welcomed to the NYS Capitol and honored the National Champion and New York State Champion Saratoga Springs High School Girls Varsity Cross Country Team, who are repeat national champions.

The Saratoga Springs Girls Varsity Cross Country Team captured their second consecutive Nike Cross Country National Championship in Portland, Oregon on December 3, 2022, with an overall team score of 81 points.

The Blue Streaks also secured the New York State Federation Championship in Wappingers Falls, on November 19, preceded by the New York State Class A Championship on November 12th.

Team members include Sheridan Wheeler, Emily Bush, Alycia Hart, Heidi Berglund, Natalie Wilding, Anya Belisle, and McKinley Wheeler, along with Head Coach, Art Kranick, and Assistant Coaches Linda Kranick and Dan VanCott.

Senator Tedisco authored and passed a resolution in the state Senate honoring the team’s wonderful national honor and presented each team member with a copy of the resolution.

“The Saratoga Springs Girls Varsity Cross Country Team are some amazing student athletes who have excelled together as a team to win an incredible achievement – a national championship.  They are among the pride and joy of the 44th Senate District,” said Senator Jim Tedisco.
