Tedisco & Walsh Honor NYS Champion Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Boys Cross Country Team and Girls 4 X 400 Team

Albany - - Senator Jim Tedisco and Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh today honored at the state Capitol two state champion teams from the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District (BHBL): the BHBL Boys Cross Country Team and the BHBL Girls 4 X 400 Relay Team.

Senator Tedisco and Assemblywoman Walsh passed resolutions in the Senate and Assembly honoring the school’s state titles and introduced and recognized them on the Floor of each legislative chamber.

The BHBL Boys Cross Country Team captured the New York State Class B Cross Country Championship on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Vernon Verona Sherrill High School in Verona finishing ahead of runner-up Vestal High School. This is the Spartans sixth straight New York State Class B Cross Country Team Championship and 11 State Title overall.

The BHBL Girls Relay captured their first-ever state 4 x 400 Relay title on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island. Demonstrating speed and superlative teamwork, the BHBL Girls Team won the 4 x 400, with an outstanding time of 3:59.02, which broke a school record.

Each member of these wonderful teams are tremendous student-scholars who represented BHBL’s track and field program well both on and off the racecourse making their families, fellow students, and the entire 44th Senate District proud,” said Senator Jim Tedisco.
