State Senator Kristen Gonzalez calls for the passage of the NY4All Act (S2235)

State Senators Kristen Gonzalez and Julia Salazar, and Assemblymembers Claire Valdez, Phara Souffrant Forrest, and Marcela Mitaynes after the 6.2.2025 NY4ALL and Dignity Not Detention Rally in Foley Square
We have seven scheduled days of session left, so we’re calling on our colleagues and Leadership to prioritize passing the NY for All Act and the Dignity Not Detention Act. We’re also calling on every single New Yorker to call their legislators and the governor’s office and demand that these bills be passed in both chambers and signed into law.

Federal immigration enforcement is cruel and chaotic. New York cannot be complicit, and we must protect our immigrant communities now!

Elected officials and community leaders gathered in Foley Square this morning because we believe in a New York that leaves no one behind.

Last week, when ICE agents stormed a Manhattan immigration court disguised in masks and civilian clothing to persecute immigrants as they sought their day in court, we were reminded of the kind of hatred this administration is built on, and their escalation in cruelty toward immigrants. We cannot continue to leave immigrant communities vulnerable to the racist whims of Donald Trump.

NY4All ensures all New Yorkers, regardless of status, can report crimes, go to school, and seek medical care without fear. This how we protect families, safeguard our values, and preserve the integrity of public services in the face of a brutal federal agenda.

Silence is complicity. Inaction is complicity. We have the tools to protect our immigrant communities and we must use them. Federal immigration enforcement is cruel, chaotic, and unconstitutional. New York will not be complicit.

From Astoria to Albany, from Buffalo to the Bronx—immigrants are New Yorkers.
