Senator Lea Webb Announces Over $200,000 in State Funding to Advance Critical Water and Sewer Infrastructure Projects

(Southern Tier, NY)- Today, Senator Lea Webb (SD52) announced that Broome County will receive state funding to advance critical water and sewer infrastructure projects. The Environmental Facilities Corporation Board of Directors approved low-cost financing and state and federal grants from the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds – a mix of federal and state dollars dedicated to financing community water and sewer infrastructure projects. This funding will help local governments undertake critical upgrades that protect public health and the environment, reduce future risks, and support good-paying jobs without passing high costs on to ratepayers.

“Endicott is making meaningful progress in ensuring clean, reliable water throughout the Village, including the drilling of a new well in the Town of Union this summer,” said Mayor Nicholas Burlingame. “We are extremely grateful for Senator Webb's advocacy, which has resulted in a significant investment in the betterment of our water infrastructure and community.”

“Access to clean and reliable water infrastructure is essential for every community,” said Senator Lea Webb. “These projects are critical to protecting public health, safeguarding our environment, and ensuring our communities remain resilient for years to come. By securing low-cost financing and grant support, we’re helping local governments move forward without placing the burden on working families.”

Senate District 52 received the following funding through the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds.

  • $286,725 for the Village of Endicott for the grant for the planning, design, and construction of sanitary sewer improvements.
