Big Flats, N.Y., September 24– State Senator Tom O’Mara (R,C-Big Flats), Assembyman Chris Friend (R,C-Big Flats) and Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C-Corning) today reminded area residents that they are sponsoring a Free Electronics Recycling Event, in conjunction with Sunnking, in Big Flats on September 27.

The event is scheduled to run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Big Flats Parking Lot (271 County Route 64 in Big Flats).

Area residents can drop off old or unused electronics at no charge.

Online pre-registration is required on the Sunnking website at: https://www.sunnking.com/events.  Additional information is also available on the registration website including a full list of acceptable materials.

In a joint statement, O’Mara, Friend, and Palmesano said, “We hope as many area residents as possible will take advantage of this free recycling event to conveniently, safely, and responsibly discard their old electronics.  Recycling computer monitors, laptops, televisions, cell phones, and other electronics keeps these items out of landfills and reduces our impact on the environment.”

Materials that can be accepted include computers (desktop and laptop) and monitors (Flat screen and CRT), printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, video game consoles, televisions (Flat screen and CRT), cell phones, IT and networking equipment, and digital cameras, among numerous other items.
