Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (BHBL) High School Field Hockey Team

Albany, NY--Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-Ballston Lake) and Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C-Ballston) today honored the New York State Class B Champion Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (BHBL) High School Field Hockey Team and Boys Cross Country Team by presenting them with legislative resolutions and honoring them at the state Capitol ( Click Link to Video Here).
The BHBL Field Hockey Team and Head Coach Kelly Vrooman won their second consecutive State Championship on November 16, 2025, at Arlington High School in Lagrangeville, New York with a 1-0 shutout ending their season with an outstanding overall record of 21-1-1.
Since 2012, the program has won 12 sectional titles, five consecutive Suburban Council titles and now, three New York State Class B Championship titles.
This collection of BHBL Field Hockey Team scholar-athletes excelled in the classroom as well, garnering a collective 95.2 grade point average.
The BHBL Boys’ Cross Country Team and Coach Chip Button again captured the New York State Class B Cross Country Championship on November 15, 2025, at Queensbury High School in Queensbury, New York finishing the season with a dual meet record of 12-1.
These are not uncharted waters for this program, as they have now won eight of the last nine New York State Class B Cross Country Team Championships, with 13 State Titles overall.
Like the Field Hockey Team, the Boys’ Cross Country Team’s success translated into the academic space with a collective grade point average of 95.6
