July 2, 2026
BINGHAMTON, NY– Today, Senator Webb delivered $135,000 in funding for Mothers & Babies Perinatal Network of South Central New York, Inc. (M&BPN) to support building rehabilitation and security upgrades. Senator Webb secured the funding through the New York State Senate’s Community Resiliency, Economic Sustainability, and Technology (CREST) Program.
Alicia Beekman, Executive Director M&BPN, “When we moved into our building in 2023, we knew there would be challenges ahead. That same year, and again in 2024, we applied to the CREST program to help address critical building and security needs. What has made those challenges manageable is the support of local partners and a community that has always stood beside us. This funding will allow us to make the critical upgrades so we can provide a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for families visiting our PAL center, individuals seeking health insurance navigation and the dedicated staff who serve our community every day.”
Said Senator Lea Webb, “Today’s funding is exactly the kind of project the CREST program is designed to support. I am proud to deliver $135,000 to Mothers & Babies and happy that they will be able to use this money for critical upgrades to their infrastructure. This incredible organization supports families all across Senate District 52 and provides real, tangible support to residents of all ages. Providing this funding means taking a meaningful step toward improving the daily lives of residents by making healthcare safer, more comfortable, and accessible.”
Mothers & Babies provides essential services to underserved communities and marginalized populations. They have over 30 years of providing family support services, perinatal and maternal care resources, youth education, access to health insurance, and care navigation in the Southern Central New York region. Senator Webb’s funding represents a real commitment to addressing maternal health and ensuring our community has the resources it needs.
This funding is from two separate grants: $75,000 for HVAC, security, and the installation of locks and windows, and $60,000 for the removal and installation of a new gutter and canopy.
