Sen. Martinez announces June blood drive in Hauppauge

Help Long Island walk off its recent blood emergency by being a donor during New York State Sen. Monica R. Martinez’s Summer Blood Drive on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.  The drive is being held in partnership with the New York Blood Center and will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the state office building located at 250 Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge.  All donors will receive two Mets tickets via email one week after the blood drive in appreciation for their commitment to saving lives.

“With the region’s blood supply running low, now is not the time to balk at becoming a donor,” said Sen. Martinez.  “We need all of our clutch hitters to step up to the plate.  Please be the MVP that will get us through this emergency.”

Walk-ins are welcome if space permits, but appointments are appreciated so please visit https://donate.nybc.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/339716 to pick a convenient spot in the lineup.  Please remember to bring valid identification, eat, and be well hydrated before making your donation.

Blood supplies during the summer months fall, oftentimes to critical levels, with donors taking vacations and colleges and schools on recess.  Help keep Long Island safe this summer; remember you can save the lives of three of your neighbors with one donation, so sign up today.
