Save New York Plan Focuses on Affordability and Improved Public Safety

Senator Patrick M. Gallivan, (R-C, Elma) and members of the Senate Minority Conference have unveiled “Save New York,” a comprehensive legislative agenda of policy goals for 2026 aimed at making the state more affordable and improving public safety.

New York State is in a time of crisis. The decisions made and policies pushed in recent years have delivered a state that is unaffordable and where the priorities of offenders are placed above the needs of law-abiding citizens. The Senate Minority Conference is offering a common-sense alternative – a plan that will deliver a better New York for its hardworking citizens.

“We must prioritize affordability and public safety this legislative session,” Senator Gallivan said. “New York continues to rank among the least affordable states in the nation because of high taxes, rising health care costs, excessive government spending, and increasing energy costs. We must work together to adopt policies and programs to address these issues for both families and businesses. Likewise, we can make our state safer for everyone and keep violent criminals and repeat offenders off the streets by repealing the reckless changes made in recent years to our criminal justice laws.”

“Save New York” is a plan to improve affordability and public safety, while building a stronger New York for today and future generations. It will:

  • Provide Affordability and Economic Opportunity
  • Create a Safer, Healthier, More Responsible New York
  • Protect Students and Defend Parental Rights
  • Hold Government Accountable

More details of the “Save New York,” 2026 legislative agenda will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
