I had the pleasure of supporting a New York State Senate Resolution today that officially kicks off the 1st Annual New York State Museum Week, which starts today, May 31st, and runs through June 6th. This week is a great time to visit and support local museums and enjoy the unique attractions our areas provide, ranging from historical homes to living history museums and cultural attractions. About a dozen museums and historic sites in my district are officially partaking in this event. For information on the overall week and participating museums, visit http://www.iloveny.com/summer/themes/museum-week.aspx My district also includes numerous treasures like the Johnstown Historical Society Museum. This museum is celebrating its 120th anniversary this weekend with a lovely reception on June 2nd. Congratulations to the Johnstown Historical Society for keeping our local history alive and exciting. I salute all museum curators, volunteers and historians in my district who help our tourism industry as well as providing unique and fun ways in educating all of us.
