Senator José M. Serrano (D-Manhattan/Bronx) joined Senator Betty Little (R-Queensbury) to encourage all New Yorkers to participate in this year’s "I Love My Park Day" on Saturday, May 4, 2013. This annual celebration is organized by the Parks & Trails New York and NYS Parks & Historic Sites to encourage volunteers to help beautify and protect New York’s state parks.
"This state-wide initiative gives us the opportunity to improve and enhance our beloved state parks," said Senator Serrano. "Over the last couple of years we have seen a tremendous jump in the number of visitors at our parks, and Saturday will give us all an opportunity to help keep them going strong."
Senator Little and Senator Serrano sponsored a resolution to commemorate "I Love My Park Day". The resolution was passed unanimously today by the State Senate. Above is a clip of Senator Serrano's remarks on this resolution.
