Senator Dilan Votes No on Senate Budget Resolution

Senator Martin Malavé Dilan voted no on the Senate’s one-house budget resolution response to the proposed 2016-17 Executive Budget.

Senator Dilan’s reasons for voting against the resolution include:  a lack of funding to the Tenant Protection Unit that investigates and prosecutes unscrupulous landlords who harass and illegally force regulated tenants from their homes; and no funding to support New York City’s share of Medicaid and University system expenses.

Senator Dilan also took issue with the proposal to not fund state park improvements through the NY Works program because a detailed list of projects was unavailable. However, funding has been committed to programs much larger than parks, like transportation improvements, without an accompanying list of programs.
