The latest episode of “Tom Duane in the Neighborhood” focuses on the impact of last October's New York State Court of Appeals’ decision in Roberts v. Tishman Speyer Properties, L.P., which held that landlords who receive New York City tax abatements for renovations must extend rent stabilization protections to their tenants during the abatement period.

Joining me to discuss this watershed decision for New York City tenants were Stuyvesant Town/Peter Cooper Village Tenant's Association President Al Doyle; Harvey Epstein, Project Director of the Community Development Project at the Urban Justice Center; and Alex Schmidt, the lead lawyer for the tenants in the Roberts case.
