Be Fair, Cut LIRR Fares

Be Fair, Cut LIRR Fares

LIRR commuters have been living through a nightmare at Penn Station.  The station's crumbling infrastructure is causing delays and cancellations for LIRR riders far too often.  It's totally unacceptable.

Amtrak, Penn Station's owner and operator, will be undertaking an extensive rehabilitation project of the station's infrastructure.   This project, while needed, is expected to cause additional, significant service disruptions for Long Island commuters throughout the summer.

Senator Phillips has called for Amtrak to fund LIRR fare reductions during the project.  Riders pay for a certain level of service; if thatservice is going to be cut for an extended period of time, fares should be cut too.

If you agree that LIRR fares should be reduced during the Penn Station rehabilitation project, please fill out the form below.
