Join Senator Mattera To Protect New Yorkers From Domestic Violence

SEN. Mario R. Mattera

JTF Domestic Violence Registry Main

Senator Mario R. Mattera is calling on all New Yorkers to join his effort to protect victims and prevent repeat domestic violence through the creation of the New York State Persistent Domestic Violence Offender Registry.

The passage of Senator Mattera’s legislation, S.8932, would establish a searchable registry focused on persistent domestic violence offenders—not first-time incidents Domestic violence is often an escalating pattern of behavior, and repeat abuse is one of the strongest predictors of serious injury or death.  Providing access to this information can help prevent future harm, protect families, and honor those who have already suffered.

This legislation is preventive public safety that strengthens accountability while respecting due process and empowers New Yorkers with the information they need to make informed decisions about their safety.  Most importantly, it sends a clear and unmistakable message: domestic violence is a serious crime, not a private matter.

Stand with Senator Mattera to support S.8932 to create the New York State Persistent Domestic Violence Offender Registry!
