Bring the Legislature Back to Pass School Safety Cameras

SEN. Martin J. Golden

July 23, 2018

With the expiration of the speed camera program in New York City, our children’s lives are at risk!  Governor Cuomo should call the Legislature back immediately to pass a bill that would not only reinstate the cameras, but also increase their numbers.

I am co-sponsoring Senate Bill 6046 which would reinstate the speed camera program in school zones and expand the number of schools covered.

The Governor should convene a Special Session in order address the speed camera issue before another innocent life is lost.  We know that speed cameras are effective.  Stop playing politics with our children’s lives, and call the Legislature back.

I hereby sign the petition calling on the Governor to convene a Special Session to bring speed cameras back to New York City school zones.
