While ridesharing services, such as Uber and Lyft, are available to New York City residents, Upstate New Yorkers have been left behind. That is why bringing ridesharing to Western New York is one of my top legislative priorities.
For the last year, I have been a strong proponent of allowing transportation network companies to operate across the entire state of New York. I co-sponsored and voted for legislation in the State Senate, during this year’s Legislative Session, to expand ridesharing services to Upstate New York. Unfortunately, the bill was not given the green light before session adjourned in mid-June.
Now, I am asking for your help by signing my new online petition to get this legislation ratified and bring ridesharing services to Western New York.
My petition urges Governor Cuomo and all of my colleagues in the State Legislature to adopt legislation to allow transportation network companies to operate all across New York state, not just New York City. Your support can make all the difference in getting this proposal approved.
I encourage you to sign the petition below. Working together, we can send a strong message: it’s time to bring ridesharing to Western New York!
